INT. SUNNY’S LIVING ROOM- MORNING
ANGLE: LAUREN SANTIAGO and DEMI CARLISLE fighting crowd of reporters at Sunny’s door. They squeeze through front door.
LAUREN
Sunny why weren’t you at work today?
(Lauren strides over to living room window)
What are those reporters doing outside? Why is it so dark in here? And what the…
(She looks around astonished)
This place is a mess.
[Sunny, sniffles and turns to her younger sister and best friend.]
SUNNY
Hey what’s up?
LAUREN
Girl you look like death eating crackers?
[Sunny buckles down under covers. Demi turns on lights and gathers stuff from the floor.]
DEMI
Anything interesting happen this weekend? You know something big that you may have forgot to mention?
SUNNY
(Nervous) No, what makes you ask that?
DEMI
[Demi points to front door]
Only the fact that your front yard has a swarm of media heads.
LAUREN
So, what’s going on?
(Sunny continues eating and watching TV)
I know you see me.
(Lauren stands in front of the TV)
SUNNY
Lauren all I see is your big behind blocking the TV screen!
LAUREN
Good. Now maybe you’ll answer my question.
(Lauren grabs the remote and turns off the TV)
DEMI
I’m sorry Sunny but you are seriously tripping and you’re not taking me down with you.
(To Lauren) Check this out
[She hands Lauren the newspaper]
SUNNY
Judas.
DEMI
Yo mama.
SUNNY
My mama is your mama.
DEMI
We don’t know really know that for sure.
[Demi answers phone assuring Sunny's neighbor that the paparazzi blitz will end soon]
LAUREN
All this hoopla is about something Ramone did isn’t it? Between the two of you I don’t miss my daily fix of the young and the ghetto fabulous.
[Sunny peeks from under covers and nods her head]
SUNNY
Oh alright. I know you’ll love this. You’re right, he’s been cheating on me. Happy now?
DEMI
Snap. By the looks of things, I bet you found this out this weekend huh? Ramone did the fool.
LAUREN
(Excitedly) Yes!
[Lauren does a jiggy dance]
SUNNY
Please, don’t disguise your joy on my account.
LAUREN
Who’s got joy? Girl I’m ecstatic. His tired behind didn’t deserve you anyway. Since it’s officially over, just say the word girl and I’ll get your things from his crib today.
SUNNY
I don’t want to talk about it.
LAUREN
So cover your ears cause I’m about to sound off. This is the best news I’ve heard all year, besides the fact that I sold that valley ranch home to Davison.
SUNNY
Lauren please! This is my life in shambles. Yes it’s over. But I’m not happy about it. So lay off!
LAUREN
No can do chica, it’s on and poppin’
SUNNY
I’m going back to sleep. I was having a good dream until you two barged into my home.
LAUREN
First off, we didn’t barge into your home. You gave us keys remember? Secondly, Denzel don’t want you so you and he’s happily married so you can stop wishing on a star.
DEMI
(Takes paper from Lauren and reads)
The celebrity studded North Dallas charity event was stopped short, when running back for the Dallas Steers, Ramone Hardaway was punched in the face by senior publicist Sunny Carlisle of KanDel Media. The feisty spin-doctor was reportedly ushered out of the banquet after what looks to be a heated lover’s quarrel.
[Lauren grabs newspaper]
LAUREN
